May 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of the groundbreaking encyclical by Pope Francis – Laudato Si’: Care for Our Common Home. Pope Francis drew from St. Francis’ deep spiritual connection with creation when crafting his message. This spirituality is expressed best in his famous poem Canticle of the Creatures, written 800 years ago, where it states that we are brothers and sisters with all of God’s creation.

In the past decade, the Casa community has aimed to foster a deeper respect for creation, promote sustainable habits, and to deepen our commitment to a lifestyle that respects the Creator’s handiwork. We invite all to join the celebration where we will recognize our community’s past accomplishments and inspire all to continue this work.

Keynote Speaker: Fr. Sam Nasada, OFM

Fr. Sam Nasada, OFM was born and raised in Indonesia and moved to the United States for college. After a few years working as an engineer, he joined the Franciscans and was ordained at Our Lady of the Angels Conventual Church in Scottsdale in 2018. He helped establish a new Franciscan community near the Arizona-Mexico border, an experience that had a deep impact in his formation as a friar. He currently serves on the Provincial Council for the new US6 Franciscan province: Our Lady of Guadalupe Province.

Our celebration will include (but not limited to):
– Blessing of New Solar Panels
– Commemorative Dinner and Fellowship
– Special Program for small children and pre-teens
– Laudato Si’ Prayer and Presentation
– Acknowledgment of Accomplishments
