A Victory Noll Sisters small grant helped Girl Scouts at Nativity School to improve their campus with garden beds and knowledge about Earth Day!
The Daisies (youngest Girl Scouts) planted their raised bed with vegetables. They harvested the vegetables throughout the growing season and donated them to ECHO (a local food bank.)
The garden has grown throughout the season, with the final harvest yielding many vegetables and fruits.
These project also included a composting center and recycling efforts. The composting barrel was purchased with grant funds. The remaining composting areas were built by a volunteer from repurposed pallets. All of the trash cans and recycling bins have been labeled to make recycling easier for students, staff and maintenance personnel. A community trash/recycling company provided educational resources and activities for students and youth.
