SUMMARY:Pilgrimage for the Hope of Creation
DESCRIPTION:A short pilgrimage around parish property to pray and reflect on God’s Good Gift of Creation\nSt. Teresa Catholic Church, 700 Buffalo Street, Farmville, Virginia 23901\nIn honor of the Season of Creation, the Life Ministries Committee of St Theresa Parish is hosting a short, family-oriented pilgrimage to some sites on Parish property and the nearby town park. The pilgrimage will include several stops where a reflection will be shared, followed by time for reflection, and closing with a prayer. Father Ronnie Dolosa will officiate.\nThis pilgrimage will focus on God’s gift of Creation, including all people with each stop focusing on a different theme. We hope this will be an introduction to other forms of Creation care we can undertake in the near future.\nThe pilgrimage will start with an introduction, a prayer and song suggested for use with the Pilgrimage for the Hope of Creation.\nThe first stop will be the St. Therese garden immediately outside the church where we will reflect on St Therese, her flowers as a sign of the beauty of Creation, and her Little Way.\nThe second stop will be to the newly acquired property (just across a small street) that is being renovated for the Catholic Campus Ministry (which serves a college and a university). Here, we will use St. Pier Giorgio Frasatti as patron saint of young adults and adventure in reflection and focus on God’s role in our growth and renewal.\nThe third stop will take us about 1/2 block down the street to the Parish Garden where we grow vegetables for our food pantry. Here we will read the Canticle of Brother Sun by St. Francis.\nThe fourth stop will take us back across this small street to a small town part. Here we will reflect on the Genesis account of creation in 6 days and the significance of God resting — an invitation for us to rest with God from our usual work (school or employment), in fellowship.\nWe will conclude in our Parish Center for a final prayer, final reflection and respond using paper and writing/coloring utensils, and light refreshments. We will share the reflections committed to paper in the Church foyer area at the next Sunday mass.\n
